Today I needed to get a Medical Clearance as part of the return to work requirement, and I’ve been waiting here for 3 hours.. 3 HOURS!! and there’s still no call. When I asked to the staff why this happened, guess what they said.. “It’s because your case isn’t a high priority, and you chose the lowest service option.” Hey, we’re paying about $390 just for a minor check-up and a simple certificate, with a 3 HOURS WAITING TIME! Mareeba Hospital is a very pretty, quaint, quiet and almost empty hospital. Beautiful gardens to wander around. I would much rather come here than end up in Cairns Base!

Rude staff who take pleasure in your pain and also generally understaffed as well leading to excessive wait time's. Has no reason to be as slow as it is when it's so small, only useful if you are having a heart attack.

The shortage of staff at Mareeba hospital, can be felt. I got an, amazing Dr and the nursing staff were wonderful. As for A&E, they were fast at getting me seen, and were so lovely and caring. Thank you all, for your compassion. I appreciate it...
