Last August I had a silver bracelet/diamond repaired at Marconettes it had come apart between one of the links. They said it was fixed and charged $30.00. In couple of months it came apart again. I took it to Stuarts Fine Jewelry in Palm Springs, it was repaired again for 15.00 and I am certain the repair will last because I have taken quite a few things to Stuarts. Nice people, good service, very limited selection of so-so jewelry. I had a mobe pearl earring for pierced ears repaired there. They soldered the post back on and returned the earring to me in a small plastic ziplock. The repair was so weak that by the time I got home the post had broken off again, even though I had put it in into a well padded section of my purse. Apparently, rather than remove the pearl so they could do a sturdy hot solder repair they chose to do an inferior cold solder because it was less work. I could ha... read more
