OMG… This is perhaps the freshest sandwich I have ever eaten, or certainly a sandwich I have purchased. The bread is freshly baked, the meat seems freshly sliced and I just assume there is a garden out back because the veggies all tasted freshly picked. There are quite a few options in Boothbay Harbor and most would drift toward the seafood, but you owe it to yourself to try Marcel’s.

5 stars for the subs- they were delicious, fresh, perfect! Harvest Turkey with the house made pepper jelly was excellent 1 star off for the packaging/presentation. We bought these subs before getting on a 4 hour boating excursion, and didn’t expect them to be open-face. They were very hard to eat and became very wet and soggy from being stored in these paper parcels. I wish it was not open face, and packaging could be improved for takeout if people will be bringing them on day trips

Nice little sub shop. The Godfather is a great (non-Maine style) Italian sub. The meat, cheese and veggies are generous and the bread is fresh.

Best sub sandwich I have ever had! They must source ingredients locally and their recipes are spot on. They even have vegetarian options!
