On this Father's Day, I remember Dr. Sher’s elective surgery on Dad in 2002. Despite our desperate pleas about Dad’s extended abdomen, Dr. Sher refused to take it seriously until the day before Dad's discharge, when he realized Dad was almost eviscerated.
