I really hesitated to write this review, but I believe that warning others of the realities of Marathon Boat Rentals is the right thing to do... because had it not been for another company coming to our rescue, our vacation would have been ruined. The absolute worst. Do not rent from these people!! Had a week booked for the 24 with twins. They called 3 days before to inform me the boat had a blown motor and they would be replacing it which would take a few days. In the meantime they would bring the 24 with a single to be used while the other boat is being repaired. The day of delivery while sitting at the dock waiting for delivery they called 25 minutes before 5PM they called and said that boat is not available now. I’ve been using them for over 15 years. The boats may be older but the engines and electronics are upgraded as needed. Never had a breakdown. Had some minor issues like a bilge pump not working and they came and fixed it immediately. I always use the Whalers. Extremely safe boat. Don’t know anyone else renting these premium boats.
We rented the 27-foot Edgewater for a week. The boat ran well and handled well in rough water. Our group had a great time fishing and snorkeling with it. However, it was not a brand-new, flawless boat, as should be expected at this price point. Miguel was great. The boat was delivered to our house and was ready to go when we got there. He picked it up at the end of the week. I would definitely rent from them again.
