We were treated with nothing but kindness and respect... I found the Mar Clair's site while researching different places to stay on the coast that were both inland a bit, but also had the accomodations we wanted most. The Mar Clair in Tillamook fit the bill, and the photos on their site were pretty accurate. Their hotel features a heated pool and hot tub, free in-room wi-fi, a light continental breakfast, and comfortable rooms, all at extremely good prices. comfy The Mar-clair Inn is a rather nice place to stay. We spent one night here on our visit and the beds were quite comfortable. The rooms were decent in size and everyone was kind and helpful. The parking lot was very clean and it even looked like it had been sweeped.
If your looking for a basic, no frills place to stay in Tillamook then this will work. Room was clean, shower was hot and the price reasonable (for Tillamook where accomadation seems to be overpriced anyway!). Restaurant attached had good fish & chips.
Well, if you're staying at the Mar Clair, you're probably visiting De Garde Brewing. And if you're not, then why exactly are you in Tillamook??? Mar Clair is a time capsule of Americana - it's a really characterful roadside hotel from the Golden Age of the Automobile. If you're looking for a place with a clothing steamer in every room, and a hot stone massage in the attached spa, you're in the wrong place. Very clean rooms very retro :-) actually very quiet as close as it is to Main. The stove in the kitchen needs to be repaired but overall nice and reasonable.
