My mother has been a resident at Maple Springs for nearly 2 years after breaking her hip. During that time we have been fortunate to have Lynda McCarthy RN overseeing her care as the Director of Nursing. As a retired physician, my expectations are high for my mother's care. Lynda McCarthy has been exceptional in every way - she really cares. My mother was one of the earliest residents at Maple Springs in Anchorage so I can speak to things at Maple Springs over a long time line. It is also worthwhile to explain that Maple Springs in Anchorage has what I would call the traditional side and the memory care side. I cannot speak to memory care "Lighthouse" as my mother was not there. This place is horrible from day 1 I started taking care of someone here, this lady moved in after I was caring for her at home and she was there for 2 weeks without a shower and then she called me to start showers again. Poor management, untrained staff, there is very few staff there that actually are there for the residents and not the money, I asked about one lady there because I cared for her for 4 years before her family moved her there and then off and on during her stay and the person I asked said “I wish the old hag w... read more
