Worst apartment complex to date. Front desk never answers the phone and always seems to be away for lunch when you go visit the front desk. Don't listen to the other reviews about Shawn they are either paid or shawn made them herself. She is never available and extremely rude. Maintenance is hit or miss but they like to think they can enter your apartment whenever they feel like it. They raise the rent atleast $500 each year with no update to appliances. This place is the worse place I’ve ever lived in. The management will squeeze any money they can out of you. Worst part is we were waiting for final statement after moving out to know what we had to pay (which should be certified mail) and they never sent it to us. Instead they sent it straight to a creditor. We were charged a full repaint for and I quote “dirty walls”, a cleaning fee which is against Iowa code, they charged us for damages from previous tenants even though we had photo documentation. This place was so nice before the new management took over 2 years ago. Rent has gone up over $300 in that very short time. That’s a 30% increase, and there have only been downfalls. They rarely mow take care of the grounds. The dumpsters are spilling over and trash blowing around every single time before someone comes to dump them, no more pest control, no more checking fire extinguishers or smoke detectors, no more pool, no more using the commons area for parties. The complex is located in a quiet area. The maintenance crew is quick to service requests. The property manager Ms. Shawn Johnson is always available when I need assistance and super friendly. She has made me stay at Maple Grove Villas very present and enjoyable!
*DO NOT BELIEVE THE 5 STAR REVIEWS. THEY ARE BRIBING PEOPLE TO LEAVE THEM. If you want the short story, DO NOT MOVE HERE (under the current management of Highlands Vista Group). You won't EVER get a response from anyone through phone, email or smoke signals. Sarah and Shawn who work in the local office (when they are actually there) have zero knowledge of anything going on and have no business being the face of the complex.
