Wow 5 years wait for adhd assessment only to be met with a 32 minute appointment didn’t follow dsm5 asked nothing about childhood asked if I drove and if I could cook abused my autistic stepson who has high needs . The lady in question basically was more concerned about the medication I was taking for ra . Oh and by the way outcome not got adhd what a joke put complaint in asked to speak to a manager to be met by no you can’t . I asked to be referred to this service and had a triage appointment fairly soon after. Four weeks later I received a detailed letter which basically described autism to the letter, but they denied me. On my part I forgot to tell them I'm already diagnosed with ADHD , which must be the most ADHD thing ever! The letter made it sound like I was trying to be diagnosed the same as my son who also has ADHD. Was referred back in 2018. was assessed at this clinic 2020. I went down the NHS right to choose pathway and was assessed by ADHD360, I HAVE got ADHD, the clinician said I am autistic too and that I should have an assessment for that. It took so long to get a professional diagnosis. I turn 46 in 8 weeks time. All the years of turmoil and now I understand why I am the way I am. I scored 9/9 for inattentive and hyperactive symptoms… they said no adhd / asd as my childhood score was lower. They failed me if you are reading this and have sensory problems in your intimate life, you are definitely neurodivergent.
