Stayed at Mantra Wollongong. Evidently had one of the two handicap rooms in the entire hotel. The room was actually okay, shower bathroom was not so good. Cold shower on a wet and cold morning not very good!! Service was pretty ordinary. Will find alternative accommodation next month.
I completely agree with other reviews which highlight the dismal, shabby furnishings and unappealing feel of the room. It is crying out for an update and replacement of aging appliances and furniture. The kitchen is very poorly equipped and the hot plates are straight out of the 1980s! The distinctly unpleasant stale smell which you notice as you open the door tends to linger. At least the rooms are spacious and bed linens are of a good quality and feel very fresh. Stayed in a one bedroom on floor 1. The balcony had cigarette butts all over it, the floor was dirty and the TV unit had so much dust our son made hand prints. The hotel only has one elevator which is slow and takes a long time to arrive and you are unable to take the stairs. Location and price are good but I'm not sure we'll stay here again.
Staff are wonderful and very helpful. The room is clean, spacious has everything you would expect. Location is perfect. Few minutes to the train, close to the shopping centre and restaurants/cafes with great food and coffee minutes walk from the hotel. Beds are comfortable, glad to recommend and stay again.
