I just had cataract and lens replacement surgery. Dr Baig my Ophthalmologist [Herzig Institute] asked me to visit my optometrist one month after surgery. I called Manotick Optometric Centre and asked if I could be one of their patients. My Opthamologist of 20 + years Dr. Bastianelli told me he would no longer prescribe or perform my eye exams. I had booked an appointment for an eye exam as directed by my family physician for a visual problem I was having. When I checked in, I was asked at reception if I wanted to have my prescription assessed and updated for an extra charge, which I declined due to cost. Unfortunately it was still performed and I was charged for it. Not impressed. I called several times but there was never any answer so I decided to go in person - the place was not busy so not sure why the phones were not being answered. I went to put in an order for glasses that had already been selected. However, the information had not been saved in their system. I did not have time to go through a selection again (my prescription is difficult so it took a while to find lenses that could accommodate the frames). I walked out and they did not seem to care. Absolutely amazing experience! Dr. Hardy, Denise, Sarah, and every other person I've dealt with here has been so patient and helpful. They will not stop until you are completely satisfied with your vision. I cannot recommend this place enough. A+++
