Manitou pontoons have the worst customer service I ever had with any product. I damaged my 2017 Manitou pontoon in the fall of 2019. The damage was caused by a fence post in a canal sticking out of the bushes, which I did not see. My fault. I worked with a local Manitou dealer where I purchased the boat to have the starboard side and corner replaced. Manitou sent the wrong parts twice over a three-year period. Bought a brand new Manitou 22’ Max Bench this spring from American Marine in Shawano WI. With only 5 hours on it has been at the dealer for over a month. First with an exhaust water fault error, now with drive actuator out. Some Manitou boats may be ok but DO NOT BUY ONE WITH THE ROTAX ENGINE!!! Search the Facebook Manitou group for other experiences before you buy. Neither Manitou nor the dealer have any sense of urgency to get the boat back on the water.
Fun boat but the dealership we bought it from is no longer a manitou dealer, now I have to pull it 8 hrs to the closest dealer for warranty work would never have purchased if I would have had any idea this bullshit could happen
So we bought a 2022 Brand new VP1 Manitou that was a left over here in Florida in June of 2024 . It has spent atleast 4 months at dealership for major issues . I have all kinds of warranty issues an have been waiting months for replacement parts.It is a salt water series an is all corroded on the outside trim already . Inpeller went, Garmin screen replaced , alarms go off and we dont know why ,seal to ski locker bad so leaks , interior faded already . We have been out maybe 10 times with it is all. Glad that Manitou has finally made their way out here to the Pacific Northwest. They seem like pretty special boats. I work with a guy who owns one and got to go out on the Columbia on a 22’ 150. It sold me on the brand. Super comfy. Dug the modern look and the way it handled. I think the larger center tube and outboard have something to do with how fast it came up to plane the way it banked & carved in the turns. Looking forward to owning one with the big open rear deck hopefully this next season!
