I recently stopped by Manhattan’s in downtown Omaha, right across from the Douglas County Courthouse, and unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend the coffee based on my experience. I ordered their current special, the “Thin Mint,” but it fell well short of expectations. The drink both looked and tasted like watered-down chocolate milk, with only a faint hint of mint flavor. Cute little place. I stopped in for breakfast this morning, arriving about 20 minutes after they opened. It was empty. Staff nowhere to be found, so I wasn’t sure if they were actually open. I approached the counter and someone came out of the back, took my order, and then went back in the back. When my food was ready, another employee came out of the back, announced my order number and put it on the counter. This has been my go-to place for a quick breakfast on the way to work for years. I have always been pleased with the food and service - until today. I placed an order online, and selected the downtown location for pickup. I received a text about 15 minutes later that my order was ready for pickup at the Aksarben location. There is no way to contact the Aksarben location - no phone number, no e-mail listed online, nothing. First time going here today, and I will be returning. The BLT and fries were amazing, along with the iced dirty chai. 100% recommend for breakfast or lunch.
