Where do I start? Went in, got a prosthetic. It was too small and the gaze wasn't right. The prosthetic would spin inside my socket and not stay aligned. Had several follow up appointments to try to fix the issue, but was unable after several visits. So I asked them to start over. I thought that all would be good with a new prosthetic based off a fresh impression... but the gaze made me look cross-eyed. My experience with the office has been fantastic. My mom has Alzheimer’s which made scheduling and the appointment to have a new prosthetic made more difficult than normal. The staff were communicative and patient, making us feel supported through the entire process. Michael made my mom’s eye and he took the time to explain everything to my mom (multiple times) and ensure we were satisfied with the end result. I highly recommend this office.
If you have young children and were referred to Maloney’s Custom Ocular Prosthetics, I would strongly encourage you to consider other options. We live in Southern Oregon and started seeing Kevin Schou right before my daughter turned one. We were referred to him and would see him locally here. In total, we had maybe three in-person appointments. Whenever adjustments were needed for my daughter’s prosthesis, we were required to mail it to him.
