I would strongly caution anyone considering hiring James Maki, especially as a court-appointed attorney. He had my paperwork for 27 days and failed to file a single document on my behalf, despite telling me he would. There was no urgency, no follow-through, and no real effort put into my case. Because of this inaction, I ended up with a worse outcome than someone with a prior record — including more time and higher fees.
