I had a very disappointing experience with Gail, the front desk manager, at MainStay Suites Salt Lake City Fort Union. From the moment I spoke with her, she seemed determined to turn me away rather than help find a solution. She repeatedly talked over me, was dismissive, and came across as unnecessarily rude throughout the interaction. Jennie, Alicia and Misha were extremely helpful in getting us into our room and helping us each time we extended our stay. And Gale, the manager, was very supportive of hotel staff. They were all very pleasant and created a professional and congenial atmosphere during our interactions with them. Our one-bedroom suite made our stay in Salt Lake City like a home away from home. And the laundry facilities were an extra bonus.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! The worst experience I’ve ever had. I checked in for an extended stay and I left after the first night. The room was disgusting and had literal cockroach feces on top of the fridge. There was a horrible smell in the room and the hallways and the other clients of the hotel were interesting to say the least. I slept there the first night and found another accommodation. The first reason for the low score was the arrival experience. No one was at the front desk. A sign said to use the "lobby phone" to dial "0" and someone would be with me; the lobby phone was in the entrance, not the lobby, so it took me a minute to find; I dialed "0" and no one answered. While I was on the phone, an employee entered the hotel, walking past me without looking or speaking to me at all - just right past - and when I came back into the lobby and shouted "hello," she came to the front desk. Stayed here for four nights while on vacation. It's in the middle of a commercial district, which seemed a little odd at first, but made it quite peaceful at night and very convenient if you forgot anything (there's literally a Target across the street). It also has easy access to the interstate without being right on top of it. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The shower was high and had good pressure.
