While on vacation in October 2025, we picked up a bolt as we were coming off the bridge towards Mackinaw City heading to our hotel. It was after business hours and had to wait until the morning to get it fixed. Thankfully, the tire remained mostly inflated and I took the car to Main Street Automotive which was a block away from the hotel. Update from a 1 star to a 5 star: My first experience here wasn’t great — I couldn’t reach anyone by phone, had to drop off my car in person, and was later charged for parts even though I’d left my own oil and filter. The receipt showed a different oil type, and I was told my catalytic converter needed a $1,500 replacement, which another mechanic later said wasn’t true. This place is incredible. We showed up on short notice with a nail in our tire, and they took care of it right away. The next morning, our car battery died—and once again, they got us in and out fast. Thanks to their quick, friendly service, we were back on the road and able to enjoy the rest of our vacation without a hitch.

A tire of ours picked up a sharp piece of metal about 20 miles south of the bridge (thanks to Michigan construction!). By the time we rolled up to the shop prior to them opening our tire was at 20 psi. They were able to patch the tire from the inside and had us back on the road in less than an hour. The repair has held up great throughout our entire trip around the UP, back downstate and beyond. Thank you so much for helping us in a bind! Reasonable, too!

We were on our honeymoon and out van broke down right before we were to get on the ferry to mackinaw island. I sent the key back over on the ferry, they picked it up in the ferry lot and fixed it while we were on the island. Not only fixed it but returned it back to the lot and didn’t charge us! What an amazing thing they did for us! I will always remember this as one of the nicest gestures ever. Thank you so much!!!
