It is a very cool store with lots of unique clothing, jewelry, and gifts. It is a "must" stop whenever I am in Alex!
Love this store! They have a little something for everyone and the prices are reasonable.
Our family has been visiting Alexandria for 19 years and shopping Magpie since it opened. Today we brought my 9 years old niece to join the aunts on shopping day for the first time. There were a number of items with very inappropriate lettering, messaging and many books with adult sexual content located near children's books and toys. If you carry "adult" content items, it should be posted at the door.

Hi Bonnie. I am sorry you did not have a good experience at Magpie. Yes we do carry some adult themed books but they are not near the children's books. We have carried them for many years and try to give you fair warning at the one small bookcase that holds them. Some of our clothing is also themed for adults which are our main customers. Please accept my apologies.
You can easily spend an entire day in this store-there is something for everyone at every price point. Items are unique and of excellent quality. Store is neat, clean, and well-organized. Owner is super friendly. Magpie is one of the reasons people enjoy shopping downtown Alexandria!
My go to store when I need a fun gift! So many cute items. I always spend plenty of time there because there are so many fun things to look at! The owner is friendly and I loved chatting with her about bath bombs. I love taking my family to Magpie when they come visit! �
