It's one of my fav and have been there many times, but my recent purchase was very disappointing. My husband picked up the cupcakes for my daughter's birthday, unlike the usual taste, the icing taste cheap and sugary. I can't even taste the buttermilk. It feels like the kitchen ran out buttermilk and just dumped a bucket of sugar in it and called a day. So disappointing given it's the girls' birthday.
Came in here because yknow for the trend and honestly thought it would be overrated but it was actually so worth the hypeeee. Banana pudding was sooo goood and I HATE bananas but it’s was creamy and light and not too sweet and the atmosphere was nice too !!! Would go back
Cupcakes are decent, regular size. Frosting is clearly the more tasty part, and the cake base itself is fluffy, not too dry or wet. Expensive, as expected for Manhattan. Would not say they were worth the cost. Some of the employees definitely do not seem like they want to be there, partially understandable given the high volume of traffic. Update 2025 - The banana pudding tastes great, though small portions for the price.
The employee’s behavior toward the customer came across as unnecessarily rude. I understand they may have to interact with many people throughout the day, which can be challenging, but it is still important to speak respectfully. They don’t have to smile, but a courteous tone would make a big difference.
