Absolutely NOOOO. Husband went here last week while we were visiting and his hair looked a mess. Mel clearly needs more practice. Overpriced, messy, and it's giving inexperienced. Those with black hair stay away.
I have been going to Mel for 3 years now and finding the right words for how amazing this woman is at her job and as a person is hard to do. She goes above and beyond every visit. Clean facility with an amazing vibe. I especially love she has furry friends there! Her service pups are absolutely beautiful and so sweet! I've been able to order custom wolly locs multiple times and in 3 years I have never had a lock break or fall out, Mel is professional and reliable and I would 💯 recommend her for all your loc needs!
If I could give negative stars I wouldI have been seeing Mel for 4 years regularly. She is mostly a sweet and kind person on the front. She does do an amazing job with locs, I wouldn't have been traveling 2 and a half hours every 6 to 8 weeks if that wasn't the case. However in getting to know her I have noticed she is a bit unstable and doesn't have a very professional attitude when it comes to solving conflicts and keeping her area safe. Mel is a truly gifted and real dreadlock artist. I’ve never been so happy with my hair. I have biracial curly hair and have struggled to find a stylist able to work with my unique texture and deliver the results I want. Her parting is even and consistent. The size of my locs are exactly what I asked for and are consistent throughout my whole head. On top of this great attention to detail she has gentle, careful hands and is incredibly fast!
