I had not been to Maggianos for many years mostly because it just was very average and even kind of boring. I went back last night because my wife had been given a gift card by Chef Justin when she went there previously for happy hour with some of her friends. Wow was I ever impressed with the new version!! It felt like a fine dining experience! Food was fantastic, served by Juan graciously, had a visit or two with Chef Justin, and had a great dinner and I will return again soon! Kudos to the new Maggianos!!
Our family dined in this afternoon at the Maggiano’s old orchard location. I rarely leave reviews, but I wanted take a moment to thank Kristina (our server) and Chef Justin. My daughter has an allergy to peanuts, and both staff really made sure to cater to our needs. We really appreciate Kristina for communicating with us throughout the process and she was so attentive during our dinner. This review is for Maggiano's Old Orchard in Skokie. What happened to this place?! It used to have great food and a great playful vibe, kinda like an Italian joint. It used to have surprisingly great quality chops, steaks and pasta dishes. Maybe that's when it was a Lettuce Entertain You place? Food was great but the service left much to be desired. We placed our order with our server, Joey. After waiting about 20 minutes, we finally receive our appetizer. Within 3 minutes, our entrees arrive. Joey said they came out faster than expected and he could take them back and keep them warm. I suspect he did not place the appetizer ahead of time, but together with the entree- that’s why it came together.
