This is likely one of the least functional transit systems I've used (Denver, Buffalo, Chicago, ...). The route schedules aren't updated on Google Maps, so you might be waiting for the bus given in Maps, but the actual bus you need will stop and leave before Maps updates and changes your route to tell you that you just missed your bus. The driver's are all excellent, and do great work to accommodate disabled passengers. The technology behind it all is just bad.
Excellent drivers! The scheduling data isn't updated regularly enough to be reliable. Buses are most often delayed by 10+ minutes, and you'll be told one route by Maps, but the bus you need won't be listed until after it passes your stop. Scheduling needs an overhaul. Route 38 (for example) stops at 5:00pm, so anyone requiring this route to get home after this will need to walk a mile or more, or cross a highway with no crossing in order to get home. June 19th Stopped here to get my questions answered, because there have been changes to the bus routes since I last visited. The ladies competent answers resolved each of my issues of concern. June 20th, my friend had a car issue and was unable to drive me to the airport. Fortunately, the details I received yesterday allowed me to Walk to the D2 stop in time to bus-it safely without stress. Thank You Madison residents, this place has us visiting folks covered.😄
