My dad was carried away into the er from a partial amputation on the tip of his finger, bleeding a good amount and in pain through several painkillers waiting in the room for hours. Doesn't seem like the staffs evaluate patients by severity at all. They took so long to get to him the loose skin was mascerated in blood and bloated which made it harder to stitch it up compared to if they had got to him quicker. The staff here is friendly and helpful. From the security, registration to medical staff( doctor, nurses, and basically staff walking around inside the building) , like they are so friendly and made sure I feel comfortable and feel being taken care of. This is the best ER experience I have so far. I mean… I wouldn’t want to come back because I don’t want to get sick again, but this will be my top choice for ER.

Very disappointing experience at Mackenzie Health – Major Mackenzie Hospital on Monday, August 31, 2026. My mother had an appointment at the hospital and was asked to have blood work done. During the blood draw, the nurse was having difficulty getting blood and repeatedly moved/rotated the needle in my mother’s arm, causing her significant and unnecessary pain.
