I used to speak highly of this hospital, but over the last 2mths dealings with them that has certainly changed to the worse now. I have had to reschedule an operation due to mailing correspondence not being sent in time, pathology requests that were supposedly sent and mysteriously disappearing in some portal and when my GP has referred me to the MBH for medical services, and has written requests for information regarding what my health treatment requirements are, the treating MBH Doctor has failed to provide information to ... read more

Our experience with emergency has been woeful. I walked in to find my partner being left to struggle to get herself to a seat - almost fainting in the process. I had to catch her fall while staff looked on When we got her into the back room the priority for staff was cracking jokes and not her care. If my taxes didnt pay for this I wouldn't be back

Parking is sometimes hard wait and be kind you will get to see a doctor in good time mostly on time.

I was admitted to Mackay Base emergency via ambulance early evening. Being the only public hospital in Mackay, naturally they were busy. They gave me a reclining chair and blanket in the ER and later had a bed made available in the ER. Early next morning I was transferred to a ward. The Nurses, Doctors and Catering staff have been very caring, considerate and helpful.....this for me has been a very good experience...Thank you All
