After 60 + days since my GP referred me to Mackay Hospital as a category 1 I am still waiting for a response. 35 business days + since I have made a complaint, still no response. What happened to the within 30 days receiving a letter from the Hospital?? Not good enough Mackay Hospital. Finally had my op over 2 months later. I was told that I would be in overnight, them even showing my daughter where. Wardy wheeling me out to the carpark where my daughter was to drive around to pick me up. Still vomiting uncontrollably. I am very grateful to the staff @ Mackay base hospital for the care given to my granddaughter during her health issues and are continuing to give her health care. Grateful for emergency attention and sending to Brisbane Children's Hospital for best care, transfer her back to Mackay and now pharmacy team, searching for her particular medication for her healing process. Thank you so so much

I am 83 and was in agony over an impacted lower bowel. Once the paperwork was done I was taken into the Emergency Green Ward and was attended to immediately by a tall Very Black nurse practitioner. He was wonderful and fixed me almost immediately. His name was Colin and he deserved a mention for his dedication and his ability. Well done

My other half could not have received better care or assistance from all of the staff at the ED at Mackay Base Hospital. Thank you 😊
