I am 83 and was in agony over an impacted lower bowel. Once the paperwork was done I was taken into the Emergency Green Ward and was attended to immediately by a tall Very Black nurse practitioner. He was wonderful and fixed me almost immediately. His name was Colin and he deserved a mention for his dedication and his ability. Well done

My other half could not have received better care or assistance from all of the staff at the ED at Mackay Base Hospital. Thank you 😊

So I've been in for a catheter issue since yesterday anyway I'll cut it short. I have a broken fragment of catheter in my bladder and now the nurses inserted a new catheter which in my right mind would think antagonise things which it did. Anyway now have severe hematuria and bleeding in my urine bag. Pure blood slightly diluted. Scared for my life just in case I get my bladder perforated or go into urinary sepsis. Don't think I'll make it so last review

After 60 + days since my GP referred me to Mackay Hospital as a category 1 I am still waiting for a response. 35 business days + since I have made a complaint, still no response. What happened to the within 30 days receiving a letter from the Hospital?? Not good enough Mackay Hospital.

While I had to spend 4 days in hospital, I understand that everyone is busy and we can't get or receive special treatment. The Doctors and specialists did their very best and I truly appreciate it. What can I say about the nurses staff, from cardiac care up to the nurses in the general ward I believe ward F. Fantastic job and effort you guys put in along with the laughter from both departments. I appreciate everything you ladies have done. God bless.
