Do not recommend My experience was terrible. They did not limit class sizes and my child's class was way too large for effective instruction. In fact, my child was pushed under the water by another child, and no one but me even noticed that she was drowning. Director did not respond to this incident in a professional manner. I am also a former swimming instructor and did not feel the instruction was effective.
Get your money's worth here! Both of my children took many years of instruction from waddling toddlers in beginning class to confident elementary children graduating with their skills in swim squad! The instructors are great with children, patient and yet effective! I also found that scheduling make-up classes was often an easy process with no questions asked!
Wonderful instruction! I learned to swim at Machers Swim School twenty two years ago, and it was a life changing experience. I learned to swim in a short time, in a safe and positive environment. I can't think of a better place to start. I still swim there often.
Machers Swim School - A+ I've had my son at Machers for several months now and we've had a great experience. He was only 10 months old when we started and his teacher, Cheryl, is so kind and patient...with him and with me. :) There are other options but I choose Machers because Joanne has had a school here for forever and has built a good reputation. And I really like that the instructors are older and more experienced. I would not have trusted my baby in the water with a bunch of college students.
Macher Swim School I spent about eight years of my life at Machers, taking lessons and eventually ending up on the swim team. I have a lot of good memories of the place and I betting that I owe a lot of my love of swimming because of the time I spent there. Macher is a great place to learn how to swim and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a place to take their child.
Macher stands behin their product I just recently noticed a comment 'nonexistant instruction' that was posted 5/31/07. That was 6-8 weeks after I had spent thousands on remodling and painting my facility. The Macher pool is warm and friendly; with our water temperature 88 degrees and with ceiling and walls painted with friendly, smiling, pictures of children and animals. I was scared to death of the water... Until I took classes at Macher as a little girl. They turned me into a fish and now it's one of my greatest passions. To those rare folks who have had a bad experience here--I don't know your circumstance, but give it another shot. I would not be a fan of the water at all if not for Joanne and her awesome staff. Macher Swim School We took our little boy to Macher's for almost 2 years where he learned how to swim. The classes were small in number so the instructor had time to teach each child. The water was warm, which mattered in the winter, for the children! The instructor's were child-friendly and always positive with the kids, even when they had a disipline.
