About this business
The first Macado’s restaurant was opened in 1978 by Richard Macher in downtown Roanoke, Virginia. It soon became popular for its eclectic ambiance of cartoon, antique, and local nostalgic decor, as well as its wide array of hearty yet modestly-priced sandwiches, subs, and entrees. Good restaurant for a small college town, but based on my experience, don't expect to get too much attention from the waitstaff if you show up for lunch and wish to eat outdoors. We did not get everything we ordered and the waitress only checked on us once... and STILL did not bring everything we were supposed to have. That whole experience was very disappointing. However, we have been at night when they were really busy and it was a whole different story. Much better then. Go figure.
