We closed on a 1995 home and the inspection report said “consider duct cleaning.” The previous owners had 2 dogs and smoked outside, but you could still smell it inside. My dryer was taking two cycles to dry a load of towels, and I was worried the machine was broken. The technician came out and found that the vent line was completely clogged with lint. He cleared it out in under an hour, and the airflow was instantly restored. He also showed me where the vent had been crushed on the exterior, which he fixed. Now the dryer works better than it has in years. This service saved me from buying a new appliance and prevented a potential fire hazard.
