I just arrived home from my first colonoscopy and although not fun procedure .. Dr. Ma preformed it at the colon cancer screening centre located at the Foothills hospital in Calgary . This man was incredibly kind , professional, put me at ease and explained in great detail in the post write up sheets to come home with me . The entire experience was so positive!
Terrible Dr.! I am giving him 1 star because is the minimum allowed. I had a procedure on April 5th, 2021 to check my colon as I had been suffering of stomachaches, constipation and others for over 6 months. Without even doing other tests, like checking the small intestine, etc. he assumed I had IBS. On April 23 I had to run to emergency at Rockyview Hospital and I needed an urgent surgery as I had an obstruction in the small intestine. He diagnosed me with Gastroparesis over the phone, didn't give me any advice to help me cope, and booked me for a colonoscopy for months later. After that he told me I need to eat more fibre. ( which you need to avoid when you have Gastroparesis), so I questioned him on that. His answer was "Who told you you have Gastroparesis?" What? You did!! So he says "Oh, well try eating more fibre if you can tolerate it, and I'll see you again in 2-3 years. That's not going to happen.
I am not sure how I feel about the receptionist as I had some concerns For an upcoming test and She disregarded any questions that I had and was quite rude So I don't think and I don't feel that's very professional especially when you try to explain your situation and you are cut off.
Had an appointment@ 3pm , the doors were locked, nobody was answered the phone as well 2x. He is a great doctor.
