Our serpentine belt broke today while we were driving westbound on I-40 on our way to Durham for the day…..we immediately knew what it was and while I called for a tow my husband searched and found M&R auto service. Over the phone, He said he could help us right away and the repair wouldn’t take long. We unexpectedly had a vehicle fail on I-40 near the Teachy exit. We were towed to his shop and had the BEST customer experience I have ever seen from a local mechanic. The family atmosphere, and quick turnaround on the repair. What we had wrong was a serpentine belt broke, which shattered the tension pulley. They had us out the door and continuing on our trip in about an hour. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND M & R for all your engine needs. They will absolutely treat you like family.
A three and a half hour road trip is the worst time to notice new dash lights. When I typed “mechanic near me” and found Wilbur at M and R auto service I was very thankful. My engine overheating light was on and after I pulled over I assumed my coolant levels were low. Wilbur met me on the side of the road five miles from his shop to add coolant but there was ultimately a bigger issue that he found as well. Thank you so much, highly recommended!
