Better Than Your Average Diner – I love a good diner, but most are a dime a dozen. I was happily surprised by Lyric Diner when I tried it over a year ago. The food is consistently good and a notch above other diners. I've brought friends and family here and everyone has enjoyed it. Great late night/Early morning breakfast spot – Lyric is a classic 24 hour diner. Everytime you go there, you can experience something new. Late night patrons are sure to entertain, whether it be exploring new food options on their inexpensive menu (great marinara for a diner) or your traditional egg white omlette's. Also great for delivery at any hour.
Great staff, bad food – I've been going to Lyric for years. It used to be great! After many changes in management or ownership, it just keeps getting worse. The burgers are patties that anyone can buy in the frozen food section, but I have let that slide... especially when it's late and this is a 24 hour diner... however, I ordered an order of zucchini sticks and got a double dipped fried order of pickles. worst diner in new york and i live around the corner – this place has gotten worse and worse as the years go by but ive finally had it after having numerous hairs in my food eating in and especially delivered...the customer is never right because they dont have people fluent in english working there and wont fix your order like this morning again for me with my egg and bacon sandwiches that were delivered as eggs and cheese on a roll...the tea that came with them soaked the sandwiches due to them not being in another bag...p... read more
awesome food and staff!!!!!! – The food is delicious and the staff is very polite and friendly!!!! most N.Y.C diners have nasty, miserable servers. I was treated very well by my waitress and would go back.
Worst Service Ever – The restaurant did not include syrup for the pancakes as indicated. When I called and asked for them to bring some, they said they would and took down my information. When I called back after waiting an hour they said they could not find someone to bring the syrup and that I was too far away and hung up on me. I only live 6 Avenues from them and was stuck eating dry pancakes 2 hours after I ordered them.

Inconsistent – As I live around the corner from Lyric, I find myself there many a morning after a late night. The service as well as the food seems to have been inconsistent. It's pretty much seat-yourself, I've always walked in and chosen my own booth. Servers are prompt to put coffee on your table and take your order. The fries are really one of a kind - crunchy on the outside and squishy on the inside. The gyros are humongous and come with a pretty decent Greek salad. Omelettes are a bit on the skimpy side. Go elsewhere! – This diner, while it may have a great range of food, the quality of the service, both in how they serve and lengthy waits is apalling. My food arrived one hour after ordering and the quality of the meat was tough and badly cooked. It's hard to get American diner food wrong in this town.
