After we booked and paid 9 days in advance, in full, $1,632, their booking company demanded our credit card details despite the website saying it was only needed if booking less than 5 days ahead. So we had to cancel, but booking.com stated that the owners refused to give a refund, that I should contact them - but refused to give contact details. I don't know who is to blame - the two booking companies weekenda and booking.com or the owners, but we are still ripped off. Don't risk it!

Staying over a winter weekend in Lyrebird Studio was great experience. It is remote and requires careful driving when you are getting there for the first time, just to find the place. It is peaceful and quiet. We were not sure about the kitchen as the photos or description is not too clear, but there are plenty of cooking appliances, so the guest need not worry if they plan to cook themselves. There is a good size TV and a collection of DVDs as TV reception (satelite) is not great.

Perfect place for a peaceful weekend getaway . No distraction from mobile as only Telstra has some very limited mobile connectivity. Owner Peter was kind enough to explain about the history of the place and took us around. Peter's wife Diana is an artist and there are beautiful paintings on the walls which can be bought . I will surely come back here to stay for more days and explore the surroundings.
