Dr van ummerson went over my treatments I’ll need and covered very much plus explained them to me I’ve been with her for 8 years now .
I’ve been seeing Dr. Van Ummersen for more than 10 years. She always puts me at ease with casual conversation to begin our visits. She is extremely well versed with the current research regarding my diagnosis, medications and other treatments. She is knowledgeable, compassionate and thorough.
I waited over 2 hours for the doctor! When she came in she asked how I was & told her I was upset & stressed having to wait so long. This was my 1st visit with her. She told me she uses no nurse practitioners & if I don’t like waiting, I should find another practitioner. She did not examine me. I usually come in once a year & she was scheduling me for 6 months. I honestly questioned how important it is to ever go back.

I had a 10:00 appointment. It was 11:15-11:20 before the doctor came into my room. No apology. It wasn’t until I brought up the lateness that any explanation was offered. It would have been better if she had apologized when she first came in and then offered the explanation. The rest of the appointment went ok.

Dr. VanUmmersen is a fantastic doctor. She take times with patients and explains everything so you understand.
I have been to alot of doctors for my polocythemia and by far this Dr has been light years above the rest takes time with patients explains what is going on does not treat you like a 15 minute Dr we the people of U.S.A could use a lot more Drs that take the time and effort that this Physician does cant say enough about her and her staff OUTSTANDING DR yes I would highly recommend this Dr and thank you Dr Van Ummerson hope to see y'all soon
