Lyft routinely posts deceptive estimates of pickup times, evidently to gain an advantage over competitors. Five minutes becomes 12 or more. Two minutes becomes 7. Worse is their habit of quoting one price, then surge pricing after the fact. My $85 quote became $122, despite Lyft knowing the destination, route, tolls, etc. I see this as plainly deceptive.

We have had nothing but the worst service with LYFT. Many drivers do not speak english; do not know Manhattan; can't follow their GPS; maintain their cars properly, and sometimes they need to shower, wash their clothing or both. We live in Manhattan, I was going to a Manhattan address, so why did he go to Brooklyn, through the tunnel and then cross back into Manhattan? Because he has not a clue. I’ve never had a more dangerous or frustrating experience with a rideshare company. My ride from the East Village to the Upper East Side (a quick trip) turned into a nightmare when Lyft’s app completely glitched. Our driver suddenly went off-route, the trip disappeared from the app, and we were taken all the way to the Bronx — over 50 minutes in the wrong direction. Shame on you Lyft you charging the passengers too much and you pay the drivers too little shame on you . And you included the bridges toll as a drivers income.
