We never received any response or any compensation for the most uncomfortable houseboat we have ever rented. There were cockroaches everywhere, old and mismatched chairs that looked like they were picked up from roadside rubbish, and a non-working air conditioner. They kept promising they would look into it at the end of the season, but nothing ever happened. Overall, a very disappointing company. We will never book with them again.
Rented a cottage @ 11 Milson's Passage with some friends for three nights. House was well set out with all the comforts of home. Staff (specifically Keiren & Mel) were extremely helpful and overall, a great experience at a reasonable price. Only one downside (which is not of anyone's doing) is when trying to dock the boat in a strong westerly can be a bit of a challenge so be sure to bring fenders.
Everything was great until one of the engines broke down. Then it was scary. No help. No communication (radio was broken after being told to use it in an emergency) and when we returned, no one knew anything about it. I was so worried that if it was an emergency, we'd be stuffed. No refund or discount. Just a "so sorry". I'm taking my business elsewhere.
We have used Luxury Afloat two years in a row now. The staff are prompt at answering emails and always very helpful. A houseboat holiday makes for a truly amazing family vacation. Thank you Kerry, Kieron and team for a magical experience each time.
Been using luxury afloat for past 8 years, always happy with the reception staff and the boats. Great for what we hire them for. We will continue using luxury afloat for our yearly break.
