Lutsen Resort on Lake Superior is a family owned and operated business. Owned by Charles Axel Nelson, the place opened up in 1885. The cabin slowly grew into a larger family home which aided the travelers as a convenient stop. The place was designed by award winning architect called Edwin Lunde. It acts as one of the best weekend getaways with its historic charm and modern comfort.

The views from the rooms were absolutely stunning! We did notice that some of the bedding wasn’t as clean as expected, but aside from that, everything else was great. We would definitely stay here again!
Owner is greed personified and someone who set out to destroy a charming and historic icon and has succeeded. Thankfully the fire happened when there wasn't a single guest booked at the beginning of February, and at a time of day when only the night auditor would be present. Imagine the luck!! Complete destruction after owner admission of investing millions into renovations for what quickly became a go-nowhere property with much blowback from pretty much every person familiar with the resort. Beautiful place! Friendly Staff! Great Atmosphere! Stay outta the gift shop though, $26 for a box of 8 crayons shaped like log's. $90 for Lutsen Minnesota Hoodie, $36 Tank top's.🙈
