It has burned down.
It's sad to see the lodge gone. Last time I was here was over 10 years ago. I always thought the lodge was beautiful and iconic, but the rooms themselves were never good, too out dated, old, and dirty. The Beach is now inaccessible without trespassing.
We didn't stay at the resort but luckily happened to have dinner at the NEW Charlie's Alpine Bistro on the first night they were open. The service was flawless, the ambience sophisticated. I had the salmon with the parmesan linguini and I was in heaven. All of our party of six really enjoyed this more upscale, yet approachable restaurant and everyone loved their food. Will go back again for sure!
For 2 nights in a row we had kids left unattended I the room above us that sounded like thunder for over an hour or 2. There was no phone number to call or anyone that could help the situation. I tried resolving it on my own but was met with silence as soon as knocked. As soon as I walked away they would resume the jumping or pounding above us.
