This sandwich shop is truly lovely. I’d never been here before and apparently showed up on an anomaly day where they’d just run out of bread before closing hours (they had received a huge last minute catering order right before I walked up.) I absolutely did not mind, but the owner and person working the counter were so apologetic and sweet. I had this spot for the first time today. The guy in line with me was picking up a catering order which was a good sign and he was excited I was trying it for the first time. I got the chicken cutlet sandwich and it was great. Great chicken cut, the tomatoes add a lot of depth, great bread. The half was plenty filling but I'm sure glad I went for the whole size. I was planning on leftovers but it went all at once🤷♂️. Nice staff. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
As the self- appointed Sandwich Queen of New Orleans, I am not being dramatic when I write that “The Positano” sandwich at LUNCH is a culinary innovation. For me, it’s ranked in the top five sandwiches of all time. I didn’t even know pistachio mortadella existed. Lisa (the owner) and her team are artisans. The portions are huge and the ingredients are incredibly fresh. The “cherry” on top of this experience was actually the banana bread! Unreal. Infinity/10. Absolute perfection.
My husband and I went to LUNCH sandwiches today on his work trip to New Orleans. The food? Phenomenal. The owner? The sweetest and cutest personality I've seen in ages. If I could rate this experience higher than a 5, I would. We shall be returning for more freshly baked bread, friendly conversation, and expertise you just can't find elsewhere in New Orleans.
