A historic stop on the mother road. Looks to be updated with a fresh coat of paint and a Route 66 pole for the upcoming 100 years anniversary. There is a nice sign with some back history on Lucille and the old time filling station. And 2 old fuel pumps - concord and Phillips 66. Nice parking with room to pull in and take photos.

Surfer Dave is a super waiter. Always checking on his customers and making sure we'll taken care of. The food is wonderful too. Steak seasoned and cooked to perfection. And the mac and cheese is the best of any I've had. Creamy and cheesy. Highly recommend eating at this gem.

Traveling down some of the original Route 66 road and stop by Lucille's Historic Station. Found it interesting that the State Department had put up fence along the interstate to keep people from pulling off to her station. Now the station set empty not open for the people on the road anymore. I'm sure Mrs. Lucille would be disappointed. Mrs. Lucille is buried at the Hydro Cemetery about 2 mile from her station. Wonder if any of them Armstrong buried behind her worked in the store.
