The staff and Dr. Pelfry at Louisville Veterinary Urgent Care made an extremely difficult day so much better for my fiancee and I. We brought our ferret (Slinky) to see them and they were not only empathetic to Slinky's cancer condition, but were incredibly generous with their time to see us and their appreciation of him. I'd recommend their services to anyone and we will certainly be back.
My Border Collie Tucker was experiencing breathing problems and I was scared of losing him. I called Dr.Pelfrey and explained what was happening, and although it was his day off and the clinic was not open, he told me to bring Tucker in. I drove 3 hours to get there but he saved my Tuckers life. After a series of X-rays we found out he had a bad lung infection, so Dr.Pelfrey did some in office procedures and started him on a round of meds. everyone from the moment we walked in was very professional and kind. the staff communicated well and made sure we understood every step of the treatment plan with the kitten we brought in, which was very meaningful for us considering how nervous we were. thank you! :) (Nov 2025) eta: we have sort of become regulars this year, and as sad as that is because nobody wants an animal to be sick, we are so so thankful for Dr. Pelfrey and his team. we've had some very sick, very fragile animals lately and it truly feels like they a... read more

I wish more people were like Dr. Pelfrey and staff. They are always professional and compassionate. Rather it is a routine visit or an emergency. They will treat your dog like it is their own. I never have to worry when I take my dog there.
