The Louisiana Retired Teachers association keeps me informed about the benefits offered and the legislation that may effect my retirement.
LRTA is fantastic! I have never seen such a dedicated group of people working diligently to help retired teachers of Louisiana! Love them all!!
This group along with local units are the only groups that protect retirement benefits for teachers and support personnel. All retired school employees and even active teachers should join to help in these efforts.

I recommend that retired teachers join the LRTA (State), become a part of the solution. Louisiana is one of a few states that has a viable Retirement System. The Legislators have been trying to combine LRTA with other systems for years. They are not going to stop, we have some very strong lobbyists along with representatives who constantly stay abreast of what is going on. But, if they don't have the numbers to support them, no one will listen. So, pay your State dues and join a local retiree group
