Marc Lorraine is a genius. I consider myself beyond fortunate that I was able to build my dream home with him and his crew. Marc has the incredibly rare mix of equal parts creative and rational mind, which he is able to blend for his clients giving them the best of his creative insights, and pragmatic, best practices in home building. Not only that, but he is kind, with a good dose of humor. I could go on for a long time about how amazing Marc is as a builder. We contracted with Lorraine Construction in 2010 to build our Maine retirement home. From start to finish, it was a pleasure working with Marc and hs crew: everything came in on time; everything was either at or actually below budget; and lastly, the quality of the work was exceptional. Not that we are planning to do so, but if for some reason we decide to take the plunge again and build another house, without hesitation we would ask Lorraine Construction to be our general contractor.

We cannot recommend Lorraine Construction more highly! Before we begin, it’s important to note that: •We live in NJ, and we hired Marc to do work on our beloved family home in Southport, Maine, and •Chip, of Ree and Chip, operates a home renovation business in NJ, and works to very fussy standards. We knew what we wanted done to our revolutionary war era ‘salt water farmhouse’, but didn’t have any detailed plans, only a ’photoshopped’ picture of the end result. Marc Lorraine was a lifesaver for us when our initial builder was way over budget and our project had to be redesigned. He helped us with a new design that addressed major design and cost issues we were facing (I.e. main stairway that didn't require cutting beams, relocating master bathroom to avoid having to raise a portion of the roof, gaining stair access to the cellar, fireplace cost savings, locating bathrooms together to reduce cost, roof insulation redesign and more).
