We had an appointment with Dr. Pyter for a neuropsychiatric evaluation for our daughter. She quoted us $2,500. We told her that we had hit our deductible for the year and were going to run it through insurance since it would be $0 out of our pocket. She said that if we wanted to use insurance that we needed to contact our insurance to figure out how to get covered. I phoned Dr. Pyter to get information about getting my daughter tested for dyslexia. While speaking with her on the phone she indicated that the wait time for testing would be 4-6 months unless I was willing to pay cash, then she could see my daughter in a couple of weeks. When I asked why there are two different wait times, one for people with insurance and one for out of pocket, she became angered. Definitely something suspicious about her practice and billing methods as listed in other reviews I have now read about her. P... read more

Did not work with my son in a way that supported him through the testing needed for a diagnosis. He was so traumatized he refused to return to complete the tests. I would not recommend her to work with children since we have no way of truly knowing what took place during her testing.

Dr. Pyter misdiagnosed my son as not being autistic and we were finally just able to get him correctly diagnosed as autistic. The new diagnosing doctor looked at the evaluation and told us Dr. Pyter didn't even test him for autism per any standard autism tests even though that is why our psychologist ordered the testing. She billed the insurance company for seeing him for 2 full days but only saw him for about 2.5 hours on one day, then refused the release the eval for 3 months.
