Found Carlson online while searching for a Minnesota roaster to support local. Just got our first bag of gunflint trail beans in the mail. Roast date was the same day we placed our order which was nice to see. Holy cow folks this might be some of the best coffee I’ve made at home. Aroma is outstanding. Once brewed the coffees flavor is really nice. Personally I find it to be fruity, bold, and low bitter. Seriously good stuff.
Bought an espresso blend from Kowlaski's in Woodbury, MN after intentionally seeking out a unique espresso bean to try. I LOVE how this roast turned out!!! I'm new to the whole espresso tasting world, but I really love how rich, dark, and chocolate-y it tastes. It took a few grind sizes to find a good taste I prefer (plus, knowing I bought the bag of beans a few weeks old means they will be a little denser to grind as they oxidize).
