Great classes, with individual focused instruction. Senseis take the time to teach each student with individual attention, which helps the student in developing a crisp, precise form of the oldest and original style of karate. Laid back feel but very traditional, keeping in form with the ancient Okinawan culture and traditions. Glad I found them.

Shorin Ryu Karate is an ancient martial art, steeped in history and has persisted for decades since its origin in 1820 throughout the world. Sensei Kim Garon is not only very knowledgeable and well trained in Shorin-Ryu Karate, but she is also very patient with the children, as well as the adults, understanding and often adapting to our "life" commitments. Sensei Garon makes each class comfortable and welcoming and we never leave without a great workout, as well as obtaining all the aspects of Shorin-Ryu Karate. Tradition, theory, discipline, basics, self defense and Kata, Kata, Kata!! I'm so glad I joined the Long Island Karate Dojo family!
