We are a scuba diving resort in Athens, TN that is based around a ten acre quarry lake. Our crystal clear waters are home to the ancient and extraordinary paddlefish, among other aquatic wildlife. The owner here is super friendly, and we had some fantastic dives here in the quarry. We dove in September and the water was a pretty comfortable 77°F. At around 30ft there's a sharp thermocline where the temperature drops into the low 60's. We didn't go deeper than that. Visibility was fine. You have to set your expectations for fresh water, and we also came right after Hurricane Helene, which certainly didn't do us any favors.
