Love Loard's A well lit and cheery place to have ice cream. It's painted pink on the inside with those retro style pink striped benches. Very clean and more flavors than you can imagine, also carries various Asian unusual flavors and styles of ice cream (avocado!). They also have fun candies, sodas and fudge, great service, lower prices than "The Other Ice Cream Place" and the ice cream is better.
Loards Is Heavenly I grew up with Loards Ice Cream - it's at SouthShore Mall in Alameda which is not downtown but is WAAAAY better ice cream than Tuckers and worth a trip to the mall. I have never had an ice cream that was better than Loards Caramel Cashew. It's a fun malt-shop type atmosphere and great service - they just renovated the store while the mall was being renovated. Rock on Loards!!
rich Loards Ice Cream is a friendly neighborhood ice cream shop. It is a little old fashioned and is has black and white pictures of ice cream fountains that have been historically famous or at least popular on its walls. This shop is not for the dieter or health nut, the ice cream is good ol' rich and creamy, as it originally was created to be. There are no signs of non-fat yogurt alternatives or sugarless sorbets. Go here if you are in the mood to forget about your hips and thighs!
