The only complaint I have, is that they’re too far away from Charlotte. Closer than Hawaii though. I’ve been here multiple times and never had a bad experience.
As someone who lived in Hawaii for 15 years, I came here hoping for a little taste of home. What I got instead was a grotesque misrepresentation of what L&L should be. The chicken katsu was burnt, dry, and badly overcooked. Katsu should be crisp and beautifully golden brown — this was nowhere close. The katsu sauce was served in individual packets, which was another disappointment. Being from Hawaii I was soooooo excited to see they moved here to NC. I ordered chicken katsu. I'm 99% sure I got pork katsu or the chicken had spoiled. I drove 2 hours to come here only to be super letdown. Hawaii bbq in Greensboro was better and spot on to what Hawaii l&l really is. After driving an hour and a half, this meal was a complete disappointment. I ordered Chicken katsu. The chicken was burned, dry like sawdust, yet somehow still chewy. The prepackaged katsu sauce tasted like a watered‑down, spicy barbecue — nothing like the homemade katsu sauce it’s supposed to be.
