Food was ok, but for the price of the food I might as well get a steak at a nicer restaurant.the ambience is like being in the 1970s
I've only ordered takeout from this location, but I can tell the restaurant itself has that sort of local Hawaiian type of vibe. Yes, the portions are really big. My wife and I just ordered food for lunch and it'll definitely feed us at dinner too (and possibly a little bit for breakfast). The last L&L we would go to (Fremont) skimped on the portions, but it was the closest to our house at the time so we didn't really have a choice. One of the best L&L I’ve been to. They got us our food within 5 minutes of ordering. Everything tasted great and fresh.
This location is super generous in its portions. One combo plate can feed maybe 2-3 people. The price is worth it. Two scoops of rice is plenty plus the mac salad or tossed salad. Usually hawaiian places would fill the plate under the entree with cabbage. They also put a bed of cabbage but not as much as other places, a reasonable amount, which leaves room for them to squeeze in the entree of your choice as much as they can.
