I bought a used engine from LKQ it was a nightmare needed timing done and cam phasers roughly $3000 worth of work now into it. LKQ was decent about helping with the repair bill they covered the timing repair. It’s sad when this whole thing should have never happened. Clearly they don’t have competent people making engine reusability selections. You could hear just by it running that the timing was gone in the engine as well as the cam phasers. Unreliable and unprofessional. You can’t depend on these guys if you’re running a business. They messed up my order, which cost me extra, and I was the one who had to keep calling to figure out what happened. To this day, no one from LKQ has reached out with a resolution, even after I told them how much their mistake is costing me. I avoid doing business with them unless I have no other choice. If you order from them, be prepared to call and follow up yourself—they won’t call you when your parts arrive.
