Mirikai, saved my life once before. The treatment only works if you put everything into it! They will help you. But you have to help yourself first! To the team at LivesLivedWell, I would like to say thank you. But I’d also like to come back. Who can I talk too?!
Mirikai’s staff care deeply about its’ residents but at the end of the day, the residents have to take responsibility for their past - those that complain probably couldn’t be bothered to contribute. Whilst a very solemn and upsetting place in life, Mirikai genuinely made me engage with others and interact - I don’t know if I could have be more grateful. To the three main advisers, thank you, otherwise also thank you- it it is never a solo effort.
Saved my life
Didn’t tell me what I needed to know when I needed to know it (told me required info late) and ended up costing me money to get a police check just for them to turn around and say I’m not welcome.
I would have rated this place higher. Most of staff I dealt with were great except for the floor manager/housekeeper, but was sometimes given duties of a treatment facilitator. This person is unqualified, inexperienced in dealing with addicts and lazy. I had belongings stored in the secure locker room and I understand they threw it out. Then she stuffed me around telling me to ask another staff member. And even hung up on me when I called about my belongings. I believe the housekeeper was also biased towards me.
